Summary of Duties:
Under the supervision of the Kings Site Director or Traditional Section Director, the Program Director is responsible for leading, planning, executing; a fun, creative and interactive program for campers in our Traditional Camp Program. Program Directors will work alongside one or two counsellors each week and will from time to time be assigned a CIT (Counsellor-In-Training), depending on the age group.
Work Performed:
- Plan and implement a weekly program for the group you are scheduled for that week.
- Ensuring your weekly program is submitted by 11:00 pm, the Wednesday before each week
- Maintain daily attendance checks
- Ensuring that equipment, facilities and grounds are safe play areas for children
- Ensuring proper supervision is always top priority
- Explain buddy check procedure to campers & assign campers to buddy check a group
- Performing First Aid, when needed
- Dealing with camper conflicts, when they arise
- Completing incident reports & submitting them by the end of each day
- Administering medication to campers, when needed
- Applying sunscreen to campers throughout the day & before and after swimming, when they are completed Grade 2 & under. Campers grade 3 & up are to apply sunscreen themselves, with the supervision of staff
- Explaining Camper Code of Conduct with campers, on the first day of each week
- Supervising during swim time, either in the water with campers or on the beach running an activity.
- Ensuring that campers who are required to wear a life jacket during swimming are indeed keeping it on while in/around the water.
- Work cooperatively with other program staff
- Ensuring campers who are going home early are back at the Hut (when at Kelso) & at the sign in/out table (when at King’s) 5 minutes prior to their pick-up time
- Ensuring all times for special events, major specials and swimming are being followed and not missed
- Reporting any issues or concerns to the respective Site/Section Director
- Creating an enjoyable and fun experience for each camper while they are at camp
- Providing leadership & feedback to fellow counsellors, to help them grow & learn
- Provide a final evaluation for each CIT (Counsellor-In-Training) assigned to your group during the week (if assigned one)

Scheduling is done based on the needs of each location and where bus monitors are needed from week to week. We do our best to keep staff at their home location, but cannot always make this happen. If you are in the Mississauga, Oakville & Burlington areas you may be scheduled to work at our Kelso or King’s location. If you are in Milton, Georgetown, Cambridge, Guelph and Brampton areas you will be scheduled at the Kelso location only.

Senior Counsellors
Summary of Duties:
Under the supervision of the Program Director, Kings Site Director or a Kelso Section Director, the Senior Counsellor is responsible helping the Program Director execute their weekly program; providing care and supervision too all campers in the program.
Work Performed:
- Running a game, song or other activity when the Program Director is not able to
- Planning and executing 2 hours of programming each week
- Ensuring your 2 hour program is submitted by 11:00 pm, the Wednesday before each week
- Participating in buddy checks and ensuring your buddy check groups knows the importance and meaning of them
- Ensuring that equipment, facilities and grounds are safe play areas for children
- Ensuring proper supervision is always top priority
- Help deal with camper conflicts, when they arise
- Help the program director with setting up activities, when they require assistance
- Supervising during swim time, either in the water with campers or on the beach running an activity.
- Ensuring that campers who are required to wear a life jacket during swimming are indeed keeping it on while in/around the water.
- Work cooperatively with other program staff
- Creating an enjoyable and fun experience for each camper while they are at camp
- Connecting with campers and operating on a daily basis with enthusiasm

Kinder Program Directors
Summary of Duties:
Under the supervision of the Kings Site Director or CHP Section Director and the Senior Director, the Kinder Program Director is responsible for leading, planning, executing and ensuring appropriate supervision each week to one of the 6 Kinder programs, Planet Kids offers its customers. Kinder Program Directors will work alongside one or two counsellors and will also be assigned a CIT Counsellor-In-Training), each week. Working with the youngest and most delicate of all our campers; extra care, nurturing, patience and a true understanding of children ages 4-6, are needed in this role.
Work Performed:
- Plan and implement a weekly program for the group you are scheduled for that week. Our 6 Kinder programs include – Kinder Scientists, Kinder Krafts, Kinder Camp, Kinder Move & Music, Kinder Sports (only at Kelso) and/or Kinder Max (only at King’s)
- Ensuring your weekly program is submitted by 11:00 pm, the Wednesday before each week

Multi-Sport Directors
Summary of Duties:
Under the supervision of the Kings Site Director or Sports Section Director and the Senior Director, the Multi-Sport Director is responsible for leading, planning, executing; a fun, creative and interactive program for campers in our Multi-Sport Program. Multi-Sport Directors will work alongside one or two counsellors each week and will from time to time be assigned a CIT (Counsellor-In-Training), depending on the age group.
Work Performed:
- Plan and implement a weekly program for the group you are scheduled for that week.
- Ensuring your weekly program is submitted by 11:00 pm, the Wednesday before each week
- Teach a variety of sports each week such as; basketball, volleyball, soccer, flag football, ball hockey
- Help campers develop their team building and sportsmanship skills
- Maintain daily attendance checks
- Ensuring that equipment, facilities and grounds are safe play areas for children
- Ensuring proper supervision is always top priority
- Explain buddy check procedure to campers & assign campers to buddy check a group
- Performing First Aid, when needed
- Dealing with camper conflicts, when they arise
- Completing incident reports & submitting them by the end of each day
